I like the fact that we have seven arms in the bullpen, and the worst ERA out there is 3.86. Although I'd still like to see Melvin add a quality LOOGY between now and the trade deadline, that's a pretty solid group.

Sorry, not really game-related, but that's what Woogie gets for doing an epic job of stat-posting. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif

EDIT - PNut beat me to it! Shame on me for not reading all the previous posts.

Is anyone else a little worried that he might not be sharp early on because he didn't do his regular between start throwing this week?

Of course I am still really excited about tonight. Just a little guarded about what to expect from him. Next start, however... http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif

Yea BSCR, that did occur to me... but I don't want to get into the whole Villy vs Yo! vs everyone else debate again.

I just want to be a part of this. Man, I wish today was a day game, I can't wait any longer!

I'd love to be able to get down to the park for today's game, but after being in attendance for all three games in the dome this weekend, and my stomach and all other major organs still recovering from dome dogs, TV will have to do. No matter what Yo does tonight though, it won't come close to actually witnessing Prince hit an inside the park homerun....I still can't believe it.

Anyways, go get 'em kid, do yo thang!

I'm trying to decide, which debut of a highly touted Brewer prospect from past 10 yrs will Yo's first start most likely resemble?

Lineup predictions for tonight anyone?

Hart rf

Hardy ss

Braun 3b

Fielder 1b

Hall cf

Weeks 2b

Estrada c

Jenkins lf

Gallardo p

I know Braun's been hitting well, but what about putting Weeks in the 2-slot and bumping Braun down a bit? Or is that a move we save for a potential Braun slump?

I like that, too. I don't keep track of the lineup day-to-day typically, but I haven't noticed Jenkins hitting in front of Estrada lately. I'm not opposed, but wondering if it's happened in the last few weeks.

Ollie, I was just going to ask the same thing. I guess I'm not so much interested in the activation of Weeks, moreso the demotion of someone....I saw Yost quoted as saying Weeks will start tonight, but has there been anything said definitively yet about who's going down?

Weeks has not been activated yet... at least it hasn't been published yet. I'm guessing it will happen in the next few hours with the way Yost was commenting on it. I'd like to see rickie come back at full strength, I got him on my fantasy team, and i'd realllly love to drop jeff kent anyday now.

Edit: I'm hoping its Gabe.... TGJ provides great speed that the brewers as a team lack. What is Gross exactly good for besides a walk now and then.

Oops. Because this site is so great, sometimes I forget to just check the Brewers home page for simple news. I'm sure this is nothing new to most of you, but for the few of you that might have been out of the loop the past few days, like myself, this was from an article posted yesterday by McCalvy:

MINNEAPOLIS -- Brewers manager Ned Yost said the team was planning to activate second baseman Rickie Weeks from the disabled list Monday, but wouldn't say definitively where Weeks would hit in the lineup and hadn't decided who to send down to clear roster space.

But the skipper dropped enough hints for a very educated guess: Corey Hart will stay in the leadoff hole, Weeks will bat eighth and either Gabe Gross or Tony Gwynn Jr. will be optioned to Triple-A Nashville.

Yost and general manager Doug Melvin planned to meet Monday morning to determine the roster move.

"It's going to be somebody who could get some at-bats," Yost said.

The Woodard game is probably my favorite 90's Brewer memory.

We were at that game! More specifically, at those games, as it was a doubleheader vs. Toronto. Steve Woodard made an impressive debut in game one and the Brewers turned a triple play in game two.

Remember: the Brewers never panic like you do.
