C'mon, no Wrestlemania 24 Thread Yet!? (spoilers)

Well i think its no doubt going to be Ric Flair's last match. Its sad to see him go, but i think its definitely time. I'd love to see him come back and start up the horsemen as a manager, with Shawn Michaels leading it, but you know Vince Mcmahon will never do that. He's too interested in making stories about a little irish midget being his son. WWE has become such a joke.

Elsewhere, I've noticed the Champion always seems to lose at Wrestlemania, so my predictions are the Undertaker and John Cena will come out champs.

My guesses:

-24 man battle royal... I would have said Kane until Henry lit up Chavo on Smackdown last Friday. I hope they don't try to turn Henry babyface, but Kane just seems too obvious. Kofi Kingston may be one of the last few remaining... he looks ready for a bigger push.

-BunnyMania... Maria and Ashley over the Glamazon and Melina. Where's Mickey James anyway?

-JBL over Finlay. They didn't do enough to build up this match, IMO.

-Batista over Umaga. This could be a really good match even though it's pointless.

-Money in the Bank... Mr. Kennedy. Wouldn't be surprised to see Matt Hardy as a surprise entrant and ruin MVP's chances. Jericho is the only other guy that makes sense.

-Shawn Michaels over Ric Flair. Still surprised this isn't the main event.

-Big Show over Mayweather. Eh... this could be terrible unless they get inventive. They aren't even sure who is heel and who is face.

-Undertaker over Edge. Edge doesn't stand a chance.

-HHH over Orton and Cena. Cena is filming a movie so he can't defend the title at house shows and Orton has had a long enough run for the moment.

24 man Battle Royal - Surprise entrant Matt Hardy wins it. He will effectively replace Punk as ECW's top face and the ensuing matches with Chavo could be fantastic

BunnyMania - don't care.

JBL over Finlay - This can help prep JBL for another main event run. Should be a fun hard hitting violent match.

Batista over Umaga - In a slow but hard hitting match look for Batista to beat Umaga. If they crank up the violence and hard hits this could be a very good one.

Money in the Bank - If the WWE were smart CM Punk would win it and later in the year feud with Edge. With Jeff Hardy's drug problems and the WWE's PED problems, promoting the drug free straight-edge Superstar would be pretty smart. Having him feud with a guy who was suspended for PEDs like Edge would be even smarter. The WWE probably won't do that though. I'm guessing Kennedy takes it and goes on to feud with HHH.

Shawn Michaels over Ric Flair - this is pretty obvious and a clear match of the night candidate.

Mayweather over Big Show - The finish won't be clean but Mayweather will beat Big Show. Probably due to outside interference or a few baseball bat blows to Big Show's skull. Nobody would ever buy a clean Mayweather win here and I seriously doubt Mayweather signed up to lose this match.

Undertaker over Edge - Undertaker will win the belt here. I can't see Edge being the guy to stop the streak. I predict Undertaker's Mania opponent next year will be Shawn Michaels and the streak will end there. Another favorite for match of the night.

HHH over Orton and Cena - HHH hasn't won at Mania since 2002. It's time to give him the nod. And the belt. Cena is leaving on the movie so he will have limited availability and Orton's had it long enough. HHH is an injury risk but it's time WWE rode him hard until they can't ride the him anymore. His body has already shown signs of breaking down. It's time to give him another run.. Having HHH go on to feud with MoB winner Kennedy would be a good way to begin Kennedy's main event run. HHH's savy will help build Kennedy up as a legit main eventer.

-The 24-man battle royal was over with in about 10 minutes. Kane beat Mark Henry in the end... looks like another WrestleMania loss for Kane later on.

Edit:

-JBL works way too stiff. They should have kept him as a commentator. Only one really good spot in his match with Finlay, where Finlay dove through the ropes to the outside and got nailed in the head midair with a garbage can lid. Bleh.

Edit 2:

-The Money in the Bank ladder match is always one of my favorite events. The crowd wasn't into this one for some reason, but there were great spots for the whole 20+ minutes including *another* few great Shelton Benjamin spots. CM Punk was the surprise winner, for sure. I never had him on my radar to win it. I did call Matt Hardy costing MVP the match, tho.

Edit 3:

-Howard Finkel introducing Mae Young makes me giddy.

-I really hate how much WWE wants Batista to be over. They could have made Umaga tonight, but instead just had Batista winning with a dumb Batista-bomb. Boo. Waste of a match that could have been a good one.

Edit:

-I pay $50+ bucks for a PPV and the ECW title changes hands in 5 seconds?

Edit 2:

-Ric Flair's last match comes before BunnyMania and Show/Mayweather, not to mention the Heavyweight/WWE title matches? This is a disgrace. One or two of these matches are going to have to be really long, too. I just hope the women's match isn't 45 minutes.

Edit 3:

-That was a solid, but not great, match between HBK and Flair. Sad to see Flair go after all these years.

I thought the show was pretty good overall. I really enjoyed the Flair/Michaels match...it was a nice moment for Flair at the end. Mayweather/Show was a lot better than it had any right to be.

Not the best 'Mania of all time, but a pretty solid event.

Wrestlemania 24 was way better than I could have imagined. Mayweather/Big Show was far better than I thought. I do have to give some credit to Mayweather for taking some chances in the ring, but you could tell he had a lot of fun in there. The Ladder Match was great and Benjamin should get a bonus for that nasty bump he took. Undertaker/Edge was an excellent match for the last 15 minutes. Although everyone was convinced Undertaker would win, they had some great spots in the match that made you think Edge would win, especially after the second spear.

Flair/Michaels was incredible! It had everything as far as wrestling and ring psychology goes. Michaels tooks two nasty bumps and Flair put on an amazing show, especially for being the age that he is. Flair could not have went out any better and it was an honor for my friends and Ito watch that match, especially since many of us have been Flair addicts for 20 some years of out lives. I especially enjoyed it when Michaels said "I'm sorry. I love you." before he kicked Flair in the face and ended the match.

My only gripe of Wrestlemania was that Flair/Michaels should have been the last match without a doubt!

After the event was over Mayweather kept speaking to the media about how hurt everyone was and how tough wrestling is. He said he has a lot of respect for those guys. I read on some wrestling media sites the "money" that rained down when Mayweather came out had his face on them. It was Mayweather Money. Nice.

CM Punk winning it isn't all that surprising to me. I'm just surprised they gave him the MiB win this soon. I figured next year's Wrestlemania is when they would pull the trigger. He is the future of the company. I knew he would be a big star five years ago. He can do it all. He is great in the ring and one of the best talkers in the entire business. When Jeff Hardy gets back put him in a feud with Punk. Then just give Punk a mic and tell him to go to town on Hardy. He will do some great promos ripping Hardy to shreds. Even though you would have to turn Punk heel, I would do it. He's an even better heel than he is a face. If you want to see how good CM Punk is check out ROH's Best of CM Punk DVD's. There are three of them and they have all his best promos and a lot of great matches (except for the Samoa Joe matches). The promos he did in his feud with Raven were outstanding. The Wrestlerave promo in particular where he discussed why he hates Raven was just brilliant.

Wow, dozens in the crowd were injured by a fireworks mishap before the last event. Did they mention this on the air at all?

I noticed that after the main event, the last set of fireworks shot straight down instead of being fired up. I didn't think anything of it and just figured it was all part of the show. WWE will have some nice lawsuits on there hands after that one.
