But yeah, take that #84!

Nuts. I graduated in 1984 and would have given Brian a picture of the numbers on my letter jacket (which I still have).

But I'm not complaining about 83. No sir.

Remember: the Brewers never panic like you do.

Just got back from the game. Awesome offense tonight. Great pitching from CV striking out the side in the 7th. Overall great win (even though i didnt get my 4 home runs http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif ).

My only complaint: the candyasses that left in the 8th inning. 36,000+ in attendance and it seemed like only 20,000 stuck around to see the W. Where do you have to be on a Friday night that would warrant leaving such a great game? I think it was easy to see who the bandwagon jumpers were tonight.

Edit: now that I thought about it, it must have been all the KC Royals fans in attendance that left early.

Okay, so I'm an idiot. The countdown I keep seeing is our magic number to winning the division, right? If so, why is 163 the base number?

I would have thought it was (162 - Brewer wins - least losses in the division). Does bumping it to 163 figure out when we win it rather than tie? And if so Brian, the Cards only have 38 losses.

Things I noticed while watching this game:

Corey Hart is on fire. Like he could hit a homerun with a broomstick on fire. Jeff Suppan looked awful, JDLR just looked worse.Braun can mash the baseball. The Royals are bad. Really bad. It is kind of weird not to be the team committing errors, mistakes, passed balls, etc. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/laugh.gif

Couple of comments about last night's game:

1) The Crew has won their share of white-knucklers this year - always appreciate a laugher.

2) On that note, do they really need to get CoCo warm with a five run lead, one out, and Wise on the hill in the 9th? Yeesh, Ned, take a Xanax and let Wiser get his work in.

3) Normally I'd have an uneasy feeling in my gut about using Wise in the 9th there, after burning up Villy until Sunday and using Turnbow, but he needed the work. Obviously both Wise and Turnbow should be available tonight, but hopefully the "good Bush" shows up and spares at least one of them, or they could both be on the shelf for Sunday's game. I sense a Capellan sighting tonight...
