Davidson beat Georgetown, almost beat both N.Carolina/UCLA, and they are just flat out playing better than us. I really think this Davidson team could hang with or beat most teams in this tournament, they are legit.

I honestly have no idea what you're talking about in regards to this. I mean, there was one possession earlier in the game where Davidson had like three nickel and dimers called on them. It's hardly been a preferential treatment type of game, unless you're viewing it with a major inferiority complex.

Wow! Great pass by Curry to Lovedale. Of course after Curry travelled five seconds beforehand, not called. Badgers played awful tonight, but the men in stripes wanted Davidson to win...tough to win when that's the case.

Well Davidson was in the bonus with 16 minutes to play. Meanwhile Curry blatantly reached in and knocked a Badger off the ball and nothing called. That's just one example. Ticky tack calls on Wisconsin from the get go. Nothing called on Davidson. That's what I'm talking about.

 

Look guys, the Badgers didn't deserve to win, but if you can't see that the refs at least were calling it real tight on one end, and not on the other, I guess I don't know what game you were watching.

Coming into this game, they were ranked #5 and #6 in the polls. They played in a mediocre conference, and that got held against them.

The Badgers have 4 players in double figures, and are not that far off their season averages for FG% (.38 v. .451) and 3PT% (.33 v .356).

 

Credit where it's due, they just ran into a buzzsaw tonight.

as for the refs, I don't see it either. Yeah, they were in the bonus early in the second half but it didn't matter. The Badgers could have been foul free in the 2nd half and they still would have lost by 10, based on their shooting. So much for Davidson cooling down after halftime. Or is this game just a small sample size?

 

I don't think so. Somebody else mentioned it, too. They barely lost to Duke and Carolina during the season, they beat Gonzaga and Georgetown and now Wisconsin. They are for real.

I could easily see them beating Kansas now. And I think that is GREAT for the game of College Basketball. Two teams, George Mason and Davidson, to make the elite 8 (and maybe the final four) in the last 3 years that no-one and their grandma would think they'd get anywhere near that far, is just AWESOME to see.

 

Pretty soon, some #16 seed will win an NCAA tourney game.

 

As for the Badgers tonight: Their swing offense turned into a stand around while one guy tries to penetrate and/or pop a quick perimeter shot. And that was BEFORE it turned into a laugher. But I think that the worst part was that their standout part of their game--defense--completely disappeared when a very, very, very quick and athletic team took them to the woodshed.

 

My Bucky Badger inflatable is about to be boxed up for another 5 months until football season. Some can say that this was a great hoops season for the Badgers. I can say no. Was it fun? sure. Was it great. No. Not unless you win it all.

 

And I'm done. (and some of you are probably thankful for that. Don't let me know about it, though.)

I usually respect you as a poster, but i can't believe you are going down this route and acting like the refs were cheating the Badgers because they wanted Davidson to win. The refs had nothing to do with the Badgers getting dominated this bad in the second half. That team took it to the Badgers and whipped their ass the last 20 minutes of the game.
