I don't know what the law actually says but in my opinion I think that if you want to deny yourself medical attention in favor of prayer that's one thing, but to do it for someone else should be criminal, including your children.

I wonder if the child was hurt in a car accident, and was severely injured, but also savable with proper medical care, and the parents would not allow anyone to treat the child, and instead "prayed" for God to heal the child's wounds and save her, and then after hours, or days of doing this she died from her injuries from the car accident, if charges could be filed then. I really dont see a difference.

And I wonder, if the parents had held some sort of unsuccessful occult ceremony to cure her, if they would have been treated differently by the authorities.
