Well he didn't take the bat off his shoulder for the best pitch he saw.

Quick thought... What if Bush never comes around? Yeah we can replace him pretty easily, but how does that make the Lyle Overbay trade look? Pretty bad IMO.

What choice did we have? It's not like we were going to turn Overbay into an outfielder.

Anyway, regardless of whether or not Bush eventually stays in the rotation, the Overbay trade was a very good one. We got a solid lefty prospect, a good 4th outfielder, and a back of the rotation pitcher for an average first baseman. Bush is what he is, a back of the rotation pitcher, nothing more. He's not an ace or even a #2, nor was Overbay worth one. Zack Jackson, even if he never makes our roster, still has good value for a team looking for a back end lefty starter. Gross could start for some MLB teams, especially against righties.

Especially considering that every GM in baseball knew that we were looking to change over to the Prince Fielder era and knew that we were backed into a corner, we got a good deal done.

Why is the Milwaukee Bucks' head coach's son wearing a Twins hat and a Mariners jersey? Is he as confused as his father's team was this last season?

Nice to see Billy add 1 more. I feel pretty good about a 5 run lead against the Royals with 4 innings left. Hopefully Bush can go 7, but get him out at any signs of a huge inning meltdown. I smell a Capellan appearance tonight.

Once his BABIP falls back to normal Bush will be just fine, case in point he has a 3.80 ERA and .630 OPS against in the past 4 starts and is looking good again tonight.

Also if you are going to second guess things I'd say Bush/Gross were as valuable as Overbay last year and Overbay is hurt this year so its pretty much worked out regardless.

Edit : Of course my post seems to be cursing him this inning :P.

A little luck never hurt...good job getting out of it Bushie...

I feel VERY good about this one now.

Of course when we were in Texas, up 3-0, 2 outs in the bottom of the 9th, nobody on, 2 strikes on the hitter, and Cordero on the mound, I felt pretty good, too.
