PS2 Delay on HDTV

When I play The Show 08 on my new HDTV, there is a definite delay. Is there anyway to fix this? Guitar Hero asks me if I want to fix it, is there any way around it with the other games?

Sometimes it just takes the tv awhile to figure it out. I remember we had a huge madden tourny on a projection screen. The first game was ridiculous, due to delay, then extremely fast play. But yea, "sometimes" thats the problem.
