I'm got my ticket for free from a bunch of cub fans, so I'll be going with them. I may need to head to the bathroom just to keep my sanity.

But rest assured: any hairy situations after about the 6th or 7th innings, I'll be heading to the disgusting rooms they call restrooms at Wrigley!

Well, if you're going with Cub fans, you can just turn to either side and do your business. It might make them smell better.http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif

I just read the game prview from the Cubs website. It focuses on Fontenot and Theriot and mention Pie. But it ends with this quote:

"The other day, I was playing shortstop, Michael was playing second, Felix was in center, and Koyie [Hill] was catching, and I was thinking, 'This isn't how it was written up at the beginning of the year,'" Theriot said. "But, to be honest, I'm not really surprised. That's how you win ballgames. You have some young guys, and a good mix of veteran guys and you have a few superstars. That normally turns into victories."

Well, I hope he's right, because he just described the Brewers.

No I just hate the guy. I just don't know why. Maybe because I can run to second with out being as winded as he is.

And every time I'm at a game and he starts.. I talk mad smack about him and bam. He does something clutch. I think he's out to get me, so I have a personal vendetta against him. STOP MOCKING ME MENCH!

I am going to play hooky this afternoon and try to scalp some tix to the game. If I can't get in, I'll just plop down at a bar and do some day drinking with my bright yellow ball-in-glove t-shirt.

I have several bets going for this game - all of which involve beer (six pack if Brewers win the series, case if they sweep.) Hopefully my fridge will be well stocked come Monday morning. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif

Wind is out of ENE at 9mph so that may negate some power but I don't think it's gusting enough to make that big a difference. Probably be better for the Brewers if it was blowing out but oh well.

"Dustin Pedroia doesn't have the strength or bat speed to hit major-league pitching consistently, and he has no power......He probably has a future as a backup infielder if he can stop rolling over to third base and shortstop." Keith Law, 2006

I am interested in seeing how Yo does against a non-horrible line-up. Let's face it, neither the Royals, nor the Giants lineups are very scary. The Cubs at least have a middle of the pack offense. Of course, once you get past the big 3, they don't have a lot, but still more than the other 2 teams Yo has faced.

Hay wOOgie, you're right that the Cubs have never face Yo, but check this out:

Angel Pagan vs. Yovani Gallardo: 0/6, 2 K

Mike Fontenot vs. Yovani Gallardo: 0/5, BB, K

Koyie Hill vs. Yovani Gallardo: 0/3, K

Carlos Marmol vs. Yovani Gallardo: 0/2, S, K

And the icing on the cake:

Yovani Gallardo vs. Carlos Marmol: 1/3, HR, BB

I like that Ned has settled in a lineup. Just changing Jenks and Mench in and out depending on the hand of the starting pitcher.
Yup, I honestly thought that was the way it was going to be from the beginning of the season, based on what Ned was telling us at the time (and I know having a regular/supernatural 3rd baseman helps solidify it) but better late than never, eh?

How was he supposed to "settle on a lineup" with Braun in the minors, Weeks on the DL, and Hart out with a sore wrist??

I don't understand how you can be critical of the multiple lineups early in the year with Braun in the minors it required Graffy and Counsell to play 3rd, then with Weeks and Hardy both out at times, it required them to play 2nd or SS.

Hart couldn't play with a bum wrist so it required Gross, Gwynn, and Mench to play more than expected.

The Brewers have used fewer lineups than all but 6 ML teams.

Im not critical of Ned at all, I was just saying that I like the everyday lineup he has been putting out there now. I think its a great lineup.
