Women's college hockey

Well it looks like the Badgers got 2nd place this year. However the team that won had an ineligible player, allegedly, on their team for much of the year. What are the odds that the women's team gets the title be forfeit? I think it isn't likely, but there will be some kind of action taken against UMD.

I blame Wang.

I spent part of my Saturday afternoon sitting in my driveway listening to the radio broadcast in my car from a station 75 miles away.

Hawing is correct. If anything, the title would be declared vacant.

The question to ponder is, how did Duluth manage to host both the Conference and National Tournaments?

Also, doesn't this Duluth coach have some sort of "past"? Wasn't she with the Canadian team and did something there?

I am not even sure if they will do anyting about the championship unless the player was still on the team and playing. Kind of sucks that a team makes it to the championship after they had that kind of infraction during the season.

I was wondering how Duluth managed to host, as well. Plus, I just felt bad for the teams that made the Frozen Four. Who wants to spend Spring Break in Duluth?!

Even though they didn't win, I think it's spectacular that the women made 3 FF's in a row.

If I'm not mistaken, the player in question hasn't been playing with the team for several months. While I feel like the NCAA is about as unpredictable as sanctioning bodies come, I believe they will not take away the championship from Duluth since they had not carried that particular player for so long.

What could happen, however, is that games in which that player did play could be vacated, which would give Wisconsin the regular season WCHA title.
