7/8/07 Brewers (Capuano) @ Nationals (Redding): 12:35 PM CDT

Ugh...not much they could do about that double play bunt. For those who can't see it, Cappy tried to bunt a ball high and tight, and fell backwards while popping up the bunt. Redding let the ball bounce before picking it up and throwing it to second to get Counsell who had to wait and see if Redding caught it, and the Nats threw over to first to get Cappy, who had no chance of getting down the line in time.

Just a bad luck play overall.

Youman, Simontachi, Robinson Tejada, and now Tim Redding. This is shaping up to be yet another game, when a fringe major league arm shuts the Brewers offense down. Consistently dropping games against teams #5 starters is going to come back to bite the Brewers eventually.

Even though I hate it when the opposing pitcher gets a base hit, I don't mind that one. If he stays out there for the whole inning he could tire quickly in the next inning and get hit hard.

Was he complaining that it was an infield fly rule?

I would HOPE that Cappy is smart enough to know that the infield fly rule doesn't apply in that kind of situation with just a runner on first.

On the other hand, what was J.J. doing??

There have to be at least two runners on base for the infield fly. I was wondering if there were runners on first and second if the ball was hit high enough to have called the infield fly. If not, it would have been a sure triple play.

you can't have the infield fly rule on a bunt anways doesnt matter if the bases were even full
