This is setting up as a typical Badger game. CSF has 5 fouls already in the second half - UW has 1. UW will be shooting free throws the final 10 minutes of this game.

For not playing a very crisp game, the Badgers "only" managed to hold CSF to 28 points below their season scoring average.

 

I'm confident the Badgers can give Beasley his 25 points or so and still handle K-State.

While this game wasn't as bad as their first round game last year, they are definitely going to have to clean things up to win Saturday. K-State is a pretty good squad, better than their seeding would suggest, and they not only have Beasley, but also Bill Walker, who is probably also going to the NBA

The slow, plodding, boring, mid-major Big 10 is 3-0, and a convincing 3-0 at that. Way to go! Media darlings like USC and Arizona are done. The Warriors will be in for a world of hurt against Stanford if they expect all their scoring to come from 2nd chance points. Time to start hitting some shots boys.

K-State looked good, I have to say. And finishing #3 in a conference that might send 2 teams to the Final Four isn't too shabby. USC seemed really soft inside -- they had some tall, skinny dudes who didn't really want to bang around too much, and they fouled like mad. In retrospect, I'd much rather have had Bucky play them than K-State.

I really don't have much to complain about with UW. Cal St averaged 80+ points per game and scored 56. They had something like 4 guys with 30+ steals this year so TOs are not unexpected. And if Akognon wasn't draining from NBA range this game wouldn't have been close. It played out like a typical UW game - close first half then UW pulls away at the free throw line in the second half.

I know, how many times did Beasley and Walker get the easy bucket and the foul? I hope our guys are better disciplined than that. The refs were really calling a lot of fouls. I see Beasley getting in early foul trouble against UW. If we can keep the game at our pace and just slow downone of either Beasley or Walker, we should be in good shape.
