How can they get away with fouling Burke off the ball without it being intentional? I don't see anyway you can defend that call, he was going for a steal? Give me a break.

Crawford's a freak by the way.

Edit: TLB I disagreed with you at first cause he'd been playing some solid D, but that was a really poor decision to go for the steal there, why risk it?

Plain and simple, Domenic James can NOT play defense. Why in the world do you go for a steal?

Overreaction of the day. I'm convinced some people were just born to hate him. Yes, that was stupid to go for the steal. Yes he flopped at that three point attempt, but players are coached to do that when they're bumped. How about the times he was on Crawford or Bradley and he was in their face the whole drive, forcing an errant layup? The guy's a good defender, you guys make it seem like he's not allowed to mess up.

I think it's because he's so cocky...which would be fine if he could back it up but man the guy just makes some boneheaded plays and is severely overrated.

MU 23-29 at the foul line

That's why UK just suffered its first first-round loss since 1987.

Well done Golden Eagles!

too be honest, kentucky should not have made the dance this year. marquette beat kentucky playing well though. good for them.

But the thing is, he's not severley overrated. He obviously hasn't lived up to his billing yet, but people now recognize that he's not as good as originally thought. For him to be overrated, he'd have to be looked at as their best player, a role McNeal has clearly taken this year. And yeah he makes some mistakes, but who doesn't? A normal player does something, someone says "that wasn't a good play." James does the same thing, and people are calling for the firing squad.

I'm probably guilty of this too, but I think some of us get spoiled watching Wisconsin (I could be way off here, though), a team that rarely makes dumb mistakes. That way when James does it's easy to criticize. It probably seems like I'm in love with the guy, but I'm really not. I think it sucks he hasn't improved too much over the last two years, but I also don't need to jump down his throat every game.

Well said. I watch Marquette and can't stand the way they play - always seem out of control. But it works for them so who am I to judge.

But what frustrates is when he takes his own athletic ability to defend (meant as a compliment) out of the play by being a bone-head. He's not a consistent defender, which to me instantly takes him out of running for being called "a good defender." He's capable of being a good defender, but is far too inconsistent imo. He doesn't hurt his team on D overall, but he's above-average at best imo.

Overreaction of the day.

Since that was in response to what I said, let me defend. He's been hyped, yes, but when I've watched him play, I haven't been impressed. The D he played to give up that shot was remarkably stupid. I learned back in grade school, that if you're playing to win, you play smart D and don't gamble. That's not the first time I've seen him gamble on stupid plays. My opinion, overreaction or not.

I agree 100% with you there. In that situation, it is simply stupid to go for a steal, there's really no other way to put it. However, I was responding to when you said he "can NOT" play defense, which I disagree with. (I'm not tying to drag this on, I just wanted to clarify what I was saying so I don't look like a jerk.)

The B10 soon to be 2-0 with Purdue about to knock off Baylor.

I like Baylor and all cause it's a good story, but giving up 90 points to a team that doesn't even average 70? I wonder if they practice defense.
