Cappy needs to show something today. It is put up or shut up time. I've always been a fan so I hope he comes out strong.

Either Cappy's not in good condition due to his offseason shoulder surgery (non-throwing), or he just isn't good enough to get guys out a 2nd and 3rd time through the order. The fact is at this point in the spring, he needs to be going 5-6 innings and he's not even close.

with all the pitching "issues", I think we might be overreacting to anything that's not going well so far this spring...last I checked, the Brewers were winning alot more than losing to this point.

I agree, jimmyjerome. Capuano is having trouble getting through 4 innings without getting bombed right now. Right now Vargas, Parra and Villanueva are just flat out earning spots right now while Capuano and Bush are not (even though Bush did fairly well his last outing.)

Glad we still have our depth. Depending on the severity we're down to six pitchers now.

Capuano leaves game with elbow soreness
By Tom Haudricourt

Phoenix - Left-hander Chris Capuano left his start in the Brewers' split-squad game in Peoria against Seattle with soreness in his pitching elbow and is returning to Maryvale Baseball Park to be evaluated.

Capuano, who entered that start with a 9.39 ERA this spring, pitched three shutout innings before running into trouble in the fourth. He allowed home runs by Richie Sexson and Wladimir Balentien during a three-run Seattle rally before leaving with the sore elbow.

Capuano is one of five pitchers vying for three open spots in the rotation. How this development affects his chances remains to be seen. He wasn't pitching well as it was, so this isn't a good situation for him, either way.

As soon as we get further information on Capuano, we'll post it.

I thought it wasn't a blown save until after the 5th inning. If the pitcher isn't in line for the win, what are you saving? Did they change the rule or is it just an error?

I believe the rules are different for a win in spring training. The SP does not need to go 5 innings to get a win. Cappy left with the lead, but the tieing run on base. Cappy was in line for the win. Since that runner scored, it was a blown save.
