[ I clearly stated "the tone of this board". I wasn't making any specific statements about what anyone says. I was simply relaying to you what I sense around here when they pitch poorly. ]

I apologize for misreading your post but still disagree on your point. I think the tone of the board has been overwhelmingly in favor of Bush and his secondary numbers, at least with the established user base.

[ In the end, I think Peavey nailed it a few pages back when he just said that Cappy might not be very good...or however he phrased it. Maybe we just need to face that. ]

I think Cappy's in the upper tier of control guys.... but yeah, he's a control guy, and when he's off, it's real bad. I don't think he's as good as last year, but he's most certainly better than he pitched tonight.

Bruce - if you personally feel negative towards a player, you are going to feel a "everybody loves him" vibe when someone posts something that says he might not be terrible. If you like a player, you'll get the "everybody is hating on my guy" thing when someone posts negatively about him. It happens pretty often to a lot of people, and I think that's what's going on here.

Well, no offense, but it wouldn't take much for him to be better than he was tonight. I'm pretty sure I've seen Carlos Silva pull that off, so yeah I think Capuano can. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif

As for your other point, we'll agree to disagree, though I freely admit (again) that I could be wrong, because I'm not around here as often as I should be.

Wearing my heart on my sleeve since birth. Hopefully, it's my only crime.

Braun now inching quite close to an OBP of .400 and a SLG of .700

Really disappointed that Hardy swung at the junk pitch to not load the bases for Braun before. Granted it would have been a different AB and you can't assume Braun still would have hit a HR, but given the way the ball's been flying and he's hitting against lefties it's hard not to.

I hate to defend the indefensible, especially when nobody is paying me to, but...

Sitting down by the plate, the zone was TIGHT, both ways. Cappy and V just threw more meatballs than the Rockies.

No griping about Ned here. He brought in V just when Cappy started to falter. Right after giving up the double to the pitcher. V got out of that inning but just didn't get it done. No Spurling or Dessens or Moeller to kill Ned about here; the studs didn't get it done.

I've never said this before, but we really must win the next 2. Just based on the sheer number of Cubs fans I had to punch tonight, we must win...

I was at the game tonight, unfortunately. Needless to say, the ball was flying out of the place.

-We're truly in a pennant race. It's only going to get more nerveracking everyday. It's either going to end in tears or jubilation--hopefully the Wild Card spot will be open, too.

-Ryan Braun will be in the Hall of Fame. He's unbelieveable.

Just about everyone falls into that trap and so help me god, if you have anything bad to say about Bush...

I hate to say it, but come August 1st, if not sooner this team won't be in 1st place anymore.http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/frown.gif

Congratulations, you are the one millionth BF.neter to predict that the Brewers wouldn't be in first for long since May 1st...

To be fair, it's probably a more accurate statement now than it has been in months

That's not to say it's a given, either. The Cubs have been extremley hot the last few weeks while the Crew has been floundering since the last homestand. These streaks happen, and it's maybe the first time since May 10th that the Cubs and Brewers haven't mirrored each other in play. The padding the Crew gave themselves earlier in the year is really helping right now, and will allow for a pretty good dogfight the last couple months.

And I like our dogs.

One thing to keep in mind...the Brewers and Cubs only play each other 3 more games this season. If the Brewers can take that series, or at the very least, avoid getting swept, it could help a lot.

That said, the Brewers really need to start getting some wins. They've only won, what? 3 of their last 11 or something. Pretty pathetic.
