I have a Ben Sheets Rookie Card from Bowman. It's a Chrome card and went straight from the package to a plastic sleeve and a top loader. Corners are sharp, no apparent flaws. Card is Number 207 of the whole series. I don't know if this is a set within the series or not. Any information would be helpful. Is there an approximate value for this card?

Best place to check is ebay. Whatever it goes for on their gives you a very good idea of what it is worth. I know it sounds like a generic answer but it truly is the best place to look.

ebay is a fine idea and a good resource. Not all the cards or items listed in this thread will appear on ebay and this thread will also allow others to quickly see any items that may be collected by other site members. This thread is sort of supposed to be a "side bar" to ebay and used exclusively by members of this site.

edit:

This thread is also a resource to ask specific questions about an item besides value.

A lot of base cards arent very valuable. For future reference if you wanted to see the value just put it on your watch list. Most cards are listed at below $1 to start for cheaper listing fees and most don't get heavily bid on until the last few hours. I've sold a couple cards that were $.99 up until the last hour that ended up selling for $50.

Good idea for a thread BTW

Ben's Rookies aren't worth a ton at the moment, and his basic Chrome probably will never amount to much. In today's card world, the autographed Rookies are the prizes, and the regular RC are overlooked, or only valuable in bulk. There are exceptions, like when a player is overlooked when drafted, and then has a breakthrough. Clay Buchholz was one of these guys, Pujols was as well, but he had some autos on the market. The Sheets Chrome RC is probably worth $1-2.

Tony Gwynn RC topps #482 1983. I doubt it would rank as mint but it's in real nice shape with 4 sharp corners.

Rickey Henderson RC topps #482 1980. Same shape as above. Odd. Both guys were #482 of their sets

1982 Record Breaker. Rickey Henderson steals in one season. topps #2 1983 same condition as other two cards.

That's pretty much the extent of my cards now.

I bought an 83 Donruss Tony Gwynn RC graded 9 for $8 off ebay last year. I can't imagine Topps being much different.

When I was at Fan Fest, I saw a stub signed by Weeks with "1st MLB Homerun" written under it going for 25. If they woulda got Fielder on it without the inscribing, I'd imagine it could be worth more since so many people just toss their stubs after the game. Is it also possible that the stub would be worth more if it was a better seat? or a season ticket instead of just a box office one? I would imagine it could play a role, but I'm not sure how much it really matters. Stuff like that is cool to have, just for the sake of memory.

I wonder how much cerain scorecards go for sometimes since I love keeping score and do it at pretty much every game. I have A-Rod's 400th HR, Yount's 3000th, Ryan's 300th, and Ben Sheets 18K along with the game he broke the franchise record for K's. These probably don't have much value now, but someday possibly: Gallardo's first start, and Liriano's first start (or win?) from a few years ago.

I also have the scorecard that Hall hit the game winner on Mother's day and wrote "Clutch" under his name, and Manny Parra's first MLB game where he wrote Debut under his name.

I guess I don't see a whole lot of value in scorecards. I could buy 20 blanks ones from the stadium for this season, fill them out 20 years from now based on the best or most valuable games, and sell them like they're something unique and rare. And I'm just Joe Schmoe, not the manager or anything interesting like that. I guess my concern is that it would be easy to cheat the system on them.

I do keep score at a couple games every season, but just for my memory so I can remember the games I go to since they run together over the years.

I've talked to that particular dealer many, many times. He's had that ticket for anywhere from $25-$40 for over a year now, still no takers. I was going to buy it this weekend as a gift for my brother (June 25, the date on the ticket, is also his birthday) but I just couldn't do $30 for a group sales ticket with a $1 face value.

BTW, the sale price does not include the nice screw down case he has it on display in. Thats extra.

Looking for ballpark values on a few items that I am looking to get rid of...

Corey Hart signed ball from the Future's Game in Milwaukee ( black sharpie not sweetspot with Future's Game logo on ball)

Mike Lowell signed ball (not sweetspot)

Dontrelle Willis signed ball (not sweetspot)

Miguel Cabrera signed ball (not sweetspot)

On those balls, I'd say that the Corey Hart ball isn't gonna be worth as much becuase of the sharpie...but witht the Future Game logo it might even out to be about the same as a ball not sweetspoted with ink to begin with...15 tops?

I'd prolly say that for the Mike Lowell and D-Train ball as well because they aren't sweetspotted....Miggy could be closer to 25 I'd assume

Not sweetspoted decreases the value a significant amount, bringing the regular value down anywhere between 1/3 and 1/2 I'd estimate

i haven't sold any of my stuff turbo, but i check ebay here and there for signed stuff to buy...i've noticed it's considerably cheaper to buy non sweetspotted stuff than balls signed on the SS

and outta curiosity, do you think a braun brewers jersey signed would be worth more than a stars jersey? i'm goin to a game in huntsville in a few weeks and am thinking about picking one up to get signed...i've heard minor league jerseys are much cheaper than mlb authentic ones
