Words can't describe how bad I feel for Kaz Matsui

DHarris34Phan

KISSIMMEE, Fla. - The Astros are facing the possibility of beginning the season with second baseman Kaz Matsui on the disabled list.

Matsui will undergo surgery Monday in Houston to repair an anal fissure, which is a tear of the skin near the anus that causes bleeding and pain. He's expected to miss two weeks, which would put him in doubt for the March 31 season opener at San Diego.

"We're still hopeful," Astros general manager Ed Wade said. "We're cautiously optimistic."

Matsui, 32, who signed a three-year, $16.5 million contract with the Astros in December, last played in a spring training game Saturday, when he went 3-for-3. He flew to Houston for tests Monday and returned to Florida, but he hasn't played in any games since.

Slap me up. I circumvented the filter to put "anus" back into the lead post.

This is a word that Brewerfan wouldn't likely filter if Yuku didn't do it for us. Handle it with care, though... no pun intended.

That’s the only thing Chicago’s good for: to tell people where Wisconsin is.

Mar 14 Alyson Footer, of Astros.MLB.com, reports Houston Astros 2B Kazuo Matsui (anus) will undergo surgery Monday, March 17, to repair an anal fissure. The expected recovery time for the surgery is two weeks.
The way they put it in parenthesis makes it look like a nickname or something.

Poor guy.

Dude, I have been dealing with the same problem off and on (mostly on) for about 5 years now. It's no laughing matter. It truly is a pain in the butt. I've had 5 procedures to address the problem and I continue to have complications come back. My surgeon has given up and I now have to see a colon/rectal specialist within the month. I have a colonoscopy to look forward to and probably another surgery. I'm only 29! Hopefully the specialist can lick this problem for good. I have plans to make the most out of this summer and take in as many Brewer games in as I can. But all that can be thrown out the window if my problems persist or come back. It's only painful on rare occasions. It's more discomfort than anything. But it is enough to keep me from being more active. I have to plan ahead to take a duece, otherwise my day can be completely ruined with discomfort. Knowing what it's like to be in Kaz's situation, I'd stay away from him in fantasy drafts. Not if his stats haven't scared you away already.

I apologize if I triggered the cuss filter. I tried to keep this post as clean as possible.

This reminds me of that one episode of The Office where Michael put Dwight in charge of cutting the health plan, and Dwight made everybody list all of their diseases. Everybody made up a bunch of fictional diseases, and Dwight got mad. Then he said something like, "who made up this hilarious one, anal fissures?" Kevin said that that was an actual disease, and Dwight said, "Yeah, but nobody has it." Kevin kind of hesitated for a second and said, "someone has it."

My brother has the same problem. You have to watch what you eat because spicy things can cause some pain on their way out. These things can heal up. Because of the way the report is written, I will hear a whispered (anus) everytime I hear Kaz's name. "Now batting, Kaz Matsui" (anus).

Yeah I've had the same problem. Once you get one, it really doesn't go away. It can heal on its own but will probably come back. Every now and then I'll spend a couple of days in pain but the worst was the first time I got a few years ago. There really are no words to describe how painful it is but just think about what it is. It's so sensitive down there, imagine what a tear would feel like, then add in the constant wiping. It also sucks because I have IBS so if I have both of those at the same time, it's just extreme pain and I basically can't do anything for the time that I have them.
This is Jack Burton in the Pork Chop Express, and I'm talkin' to whoever's listenin' out there.
