7/14/07 Rockies (Lopez) @ Brewers (Sheets): 6:05 PM CDT

I haven't posted in awhile, but I enjoyed tonight's game. Gallardo impressed me once again and shows he can step in when needed in the clutch.

I gained a lot of respect for Ned Yost tonight too. That Graffy pinch hit was anti-Ned to the highest degree. He put Weeks' potentially hurt feelings aside and did what was best for the team in that situation. Bottom line is you need a contact hitter in that spot and Weeks' lack of plate discipline and overall shoddy batsmanship this season warrants this type of ballsy move by Mr. Yost.

Let's pick up the rubber match tomorrow!

I have to admit, as much as my head tells me to save Yo's innings for the late season and/or postseason, my heart wouldn't mind seeing him in for longer, starter-type stretches.

And hey, what if Ned's PH decision lights a fire under Rickie? Just saying it's possible.

Who comes in during the 6th tomorrow?

Whoever comes in during the 6th on Sunday, I hope he's relieving Suppan and not the guy who relieved Suppan in an even earlier inning. Jeff, feel free to prove me wrong.

I'm going to the game tomorrow. I have a bad feeling it's going to be humid and long with lots of baserunners. If Jeff Suppan ever needed a stellar outing (besides Game 7 last year), tomorrow is the day. Regarding tonight, the win is nice, but I'm praying there's no ligament damage. Hopefully Sheets can be back within a week or so because, with CHC on our tails, the Brewers cannot afford to lose their ace.

Of course the sky is falling, Ben Sheets is injured!

This was an awesome game to win. Great job by Yo. I must say I'm surprised Yost pinch hit with Graffanino knowing his tendency to let guys redeem themselves, but it was the right call and worked out. Now if only we can figure out how to hit Aaron Cook tomorrow we can get a series win.

Suppan is pitching tomorrow, Ned won't pull him before the 7th.

Yeah, I really hope Suppan realizes he needs to go more than 5 innings today. Not just to prove the doubters wrong, but to give the bullpen a little bit of a breather. Hopefully the offense can score more than 1 run before the ninth inning as well.

To comment on last night's game, it was very refreshing to see the Brewers win at the end last night, and see the excitement at Miller Park and amongst the team when they got the victory. It was a great moment that they can hopefully build on, to keep the Cubs at bay in the standings.
