Perhaps Texas will need a pitcher

From the sounds of this article, their staff is basically a mess right now. Sidney Ponson....'nuff said?

Man, I'd just be getting if we could get Taylor Teagarden from them.

By all accounts he's an excellant defensive catcher, and a great leader. He had TJ surgery a couple years ago, but the word is that he's all the way back from it and is expected to have a bit of a break out year behind the dish. He's not a great offensive prospects, but hell, he's a catcher, so who is.

Plus they've got Max Ramirez and that Cristian Santana both catching prospects who can sit behind Salt, their catcher of the future.

I'd think Dave Bush would get him in return, or at least Dave Bush plus Seth McClung. We really don't have much call for McClung and the Rangers can use all the arms they can get(though their pen is actually pretty decent).

Dave Bush (or Capuano)and Matt Gamel for Taylor Teagarden and low level nugget. Isn't Blaylock nearing free agency, if he isn't there is still the ever present rumors the Rangers are going to trade him.

What happens if Kendall flops, I am talking totally flops this year Mendoza line batting average (that even extra walks can't cure) and an absolute inability to throw anyone out? If Kendall flops is there any chance that the Brewers would try to trade for either Gerald Laird or Saltamachia (sp?)?

there is no way the Rangers trade Salty but if they have a few C prospect like people stated earlier possibly. The thing is their long term plans are not to have Salty catching so they'd probably want to hang on to their top C prospects.

You want Salty or Teagarden it probably starts with at least Villanueva...... and Bush or Cappy would not be in the discussion. There should be no real reason for Texas to hang on to all 3 and Laird is just so dang solid, he's tough to push out. You dangle the right arm(s) and either of the young catchers will be out of there in a heartbeat.
