3/12/08 Brewers (Villanueva) at Mariners (Washburn): 3:05 PM CDT

On a postive note Villy continues to impress and I can't see any way he doesn't make this rotation. To me there are 3 locks for starting the seasons (Sheets, Suppan, and Villy) and Gallardo. That leaves 2 spots to open the season. Parra and Vargas are leading that race and the margin is beginning to widen. In my ideal world Parra and Vargas would start and Vargas would move to the pen or be traded when YoGa is ready.

Couldn't agree more!!

I won't judge any pitcher until I see them. I will say that it's difficult for any pitcher to get 4-6 outs in an inning. I'm not trying to campaign for Cappy's spot in the rotation because I'd rather have Bush or Parra in there (come on, Villanueva has to be a shoo-in by now, seriously), but the poor guy just can't catch a break, even in freaking spring training.

Cappy was in an interview earlier this week saying that this week was the time that the P's should really start bringing there A game if they want to earn a starting spot. (saw on the TimeWarner Roundtable w/Krause)....

Hmmmm, Cappy, you didn't head your own warning....start packing your bags for Triple A...C Ya!

I just don't get it, they scored a bunch of unearned runs because the defense exploded, he should have had 4 IP, 0 ER and you guys are saying he stunk?

I'm just baffled by that opinion. These were routine plays. If the defense made 4 errors in 2 innings with in the 1st or 2nd Villanueva would have let in runs too.

Here is the problem. Yes the Brewer defense was horrible for Cappy. But with two outs everything is unearned after an error. He gave up base hits after the errors when he couldn't stop the bleeding. I was rooting for him, but let's be realistic. Get him right before giving him the ball. And time is running out.

you said it bbeahman... Time is running out....

I am now officially on the Manny Parra bandwagon. We need a lefty in the starting five, and I was hoping it was going to be Cappy. Who knows, I'm still routing for him, but I still want to win and why not put your studs in. Parra is a flat out stud.

Yes he gave up runs because they made more errors! He got out of the big inning 3 times and the defense missed all 3 chances. When you have to get 6 outs in an inning it is going to be rough.
