Lou Palmisano Optioned To Nashville

It's the first of Lou's three options, as he doesn't "have" to make the squad (without options) until spring 2011.

 

The reason for optioning him today, as I'm sure we'll read later, was today was the last day to option him without major league service time accumulating. So Palmisano will earn his 40-man roster salary, but not the big league minimum of $390,000 while sidelined.

Is anyone familiar with how well Lou is expected to recover from his injury/surgery? I'd imagine a serious knee injury is particularly bad for a C. I really was hoping Lou could sneak onto the scene this year... guess we'll have to wait for 2009 for the Captain to have a shot at the bigs.
