It's at times like this I lived in Chicago so I could watch this game. Anyways, we need this game to seperate ourselves from the Cubs! Spring training records carry over into the regular season!

Must win. Bush hasn't won a game all year so we're probably going to lose. And then our lead over the Cubs will be cut to two games. The season is slipping away!

Edit: It is also a bad omen that both starting pitchers have 4-letter first and last names. Yah, I know, Dave is short for David , but loss is a four letter word for defeat.

Get to watch Bush again on MLB.tv...I just can't help liking the guy. All he does is throw strikes and keep the game moving. I'm rooting for him so much to make the rotation, but he's not doing anything to impress anyone right now.

I can think of several four letter words which are short for "Cub's Fan"

Am I the only one that sees the absence of hitting by just about all the regulars. Corey, Prince, Ricky, & Billy seem to be in the worst funk. But Braun and Hardy aren't far behind.I know that Braun & JJ have had some big hits this spring, just not that many. I would have expected to see us lighting up some pitchers this Spring.

Most of our runs are coming late when first line pitchers are gone and our subs are in the games.

Now this is new to Prince & Ricky, but Corey and Billy always seem to start out slow and pick it up.

Does anyone have an explanation or reason for this.

Braun's numbers are excellent, he's excused, but I do see what you see, especially with Weeks and Hart. This is why I hate spring stats, they probably mean nothing, but...

sporadic at bats during the first few weeks of spring training...at this point the main purpose of in-game ab's is pitch recognition and getting timing down. At this point in games, even if you have 4 at bats, they'll most likely be coming against 4 different pitchers, 3 of which a hitter's never seen before. Not exactly a recipe for offensive fireworks.

still almost 3 full weeks of practice for everyone to be ready for opening day - staying healthy is much more important than tearing the cover off the ball in March for a hitter with a decent track record.

Cameron absolutely kills Hill, 4 of his 5 hits against him are HR's! Too bad he won't be around for the first series against the Cubbies.

Hill won't pitch in first series anyway. Piniella is on record saying he wants to split his 2 lefties, so it figures to be Zambrano, Lilly, and Dempster in the first series.

Amazing how Ramirez kept that thing fair, that was a good pitch.

Top 1st inning

Theriot - single

Fukudome - walk

Lee - groundout, runners advance

Ramirez - 2 RBI double

Kroeger - RBI single

DeRosa - groundout, runner to 2nd

Blanco - soft lineout to 2B

3-0 Cubs

Bottom 1st inning

Weeks - bunt popout

Nunez - strikeout

Kapler - single, left field

Fielder - single, center field - Kapler to third

Hart - popped out to RF

3-0 Cubs

I see zero chance Bush is in the rotation once Gallardo is back.

Bush/Gallardo/Suppan/Villanueva/Capuano.

Where is Sheets? And I think Vargas and Parra both have a better shot than Cappy being in the rotation to start the season. Cappy needs to use his option to go down to AAA or extended spring training and work on some things
