chorizo, I think at this time of ST, every team thinks they have guys to take the #4 and #5 rotation positions. By the end of ST, some will have lost confidence in that, or have injuries. That's when something might happen. Hopefully to get something in return more than brady clark.

I'd really like to see Capuano revert back to being a solid option as a starter, but I don't think this team can afford to run him out there every 5th day until he 'figures it out' when they will most likely have better options in the minors ready to take his spot. I don't care if it's lack of velocity, command, mental, physical, whatever...if he can't get people out consistently he shouldn't be in the rotation. Another option they may be able to use with Capuano would be to DL him and let him stay in extended spring training...it'd give him more time to strengthen his non-throwing shoulder at least.

I know pitching always has value, but does anyone else think part of the reason one of Capuano, Vargas, or Bush hasn't been traded to this point is because other organizations realize that they'll probably be able to pick one up off the waiver wire, or trade next to nothing to acquire them? If they were better pitchers one of them would have already been dealt, IMO. I think as the regular season gets closer, the Brewers are really going to be in a roster bind with their pitching - in order for them to have the best chance to win, one of these struggling veteran starters will need to be dealt, put on waivers, or Elmer Dessens'ed for the 08 season.

Honestly right now I am more worried about the bullpen battle..... the BRewers want another Lefty option to Shouse....there is 1 spot that is open with 5 guys fighting for it and 2 of them are out of Options and are not Lefthanded.....Mota, Mcclung(both out of options)....Pena, Stetter(Both have Options)...choate(signed a minor league deal)...

Mota and Pena are all pitching well....

I dont know how McClung is pitching...but I would hate to lose him if he cant make the pen... because I am sure somebody claims him off of waivers just because he throws so hard....

Out at the plate was really the 2d out (announcer had it wrong), then a grounder to short to strand 2 in scoring position, 7-3. Bottom 6, Chavez leadoff 2B and stayed there on a grounder to short, went to 3d on a chopper to 1st. RBI single by Kendall on the 1st pitch, 7-4.

nix and gross have some power, and rottino and munson a little, but the rest blows.

Hey now dont forget the Lightening Fast "Hammerin Little T" Gwynn.... that boy has more Pop than Prince Fielder....I mean he has a HR and Prince does not...lol

That's because Gwynn is not a vegetarian.

shousie is pitching some fine batting practice. 3 straight hits.

Shouse will not finish the year on the team. Despite streaks of success over the last couple of years, I have zero confidence when he comes into the game.

we better hope he does ok, otherwise choate? stetter?

capuano?????

I like Stetter... and Choate... they just need Shouse to be and STAY the LOOGY and thats it... they got away with using him for a full inning last year at times to spell some of the MRPs...but he just needs to be in there against the Leftys....
