2. Turnbow is our setup guy and a good one at that. Every time he pitches everyone is nervous. When he gets the guys 1..2...3 like last night, nobody says anything but when he gives up some runs people want to shred him (thinking back to last year's 2nd half performance) Sometimes you have to tip the cap to the other team, as it is pretty obvious T-Bow isn't the only guy to give up a HR to Dunn. Atleast T-Bow wasn't walking guys.

Exactly.

Just take a look at his game log.

Since he gave up 3 ER on May 30th in Atlanta, he had only given up 4 ER and 11 hits, over his last 21 IP.

Maybe he let some inherited runners score in there somewhere, I don't know.

With respect to Turnbow, you have to recognize that major league pitchers are gonna get hit sometimes. With a setup man, that is likely to happen in a high-leverage situation, so it seems like a disaster every time it happens. But Turnbow has succeeded more than he's failed this year, and he's going to continue getting the ball in those high-leverage situations.

What they'll do in the ninth next year will be very interesting, though...

Yeah, Prince. Nice to add a run here.

At least Turnbow did attack the strike zone and sometimes the hitter wins this duel. I prefer to see Turnbow attacking hitters than walking them.

Attacking hitters isn't an inherently better strategy as a reliever unless you're up multiple runs. It pays to be selective like Villanueva when you're only up 1 on run or tied. That's why he's so good in those situations, and they happen to be the situations which are the most pivotal.
