Brewers Preview (FoxSports.com)

Milwaukee Brewers

This has probably been mentioned in another thread, or should be posted in an already existing thread, but I just thought I would direct link it, as it is always good to get a true "Assessment" of what a national writer has to say about our team. My favorite part is when they say:

David Riske - RHP

2007 LINE: 2-4, 5.47 ERA, 56 G, 52.2 IP, 12 SV, 57 H, 17 BB, 45 SO, .277 BAA.

SIGNIFICANT STATS/INJURIES: Spent two stints on the DL with elbow tendinitis and was limited to 56 IP - his fewest in six seasons in Pittsburgh.

SCOUTING REPORT: Drop-and-drive delivery. Loose arm from three quarters. Throws easily. Gets on hitters quickly with a fastball (88-93 mph) that tends to be straight, a flat slider and a split-type change that's more effective for its diving action than its velocity. Can provide multiple innings in the middle. Versatile.

GRADE: 2.1.

Insert joke about how he at least didn't make a "riske mota mistake" here.

Good lord, either get your info correct or don't write about it at all.

Milwaukee showed it's ready to contend for years to come with a talented group of young players led by slugging corner infielders Prince Fielder and Ryan Braun.

Braun, the third baseman
Braun and Hart, who will both be 26 when the 2008 season opens

He helped make up for the lack of production from centerfielder Bill Hall, who slumped to .254 with 14 home runs and 63 RBIs after being moved from third base, where he hit .270 with 35 homers the year before
well third base and shortstop are right next to each other

Ryan Braun - LF

SCOUTING REPORT: Impact bat. Excellent bat speed, balance and leverage. Lets the ball travel. Displays power to all fields; gets great backspin and carry on his long drives. Takes breaking pitches the other way. Kills lefthanders. Below-average 3B. Lacks first-step quickness, natural infield actions and reliable hands. Has a lot of trouble going to the line. Could eventually move to a corner outfield spot.

FACT CHECKERS!?
