Is Jimmy Buffett a hot ticket at Alpine?

I honestly don't think that there's any better way to say it: Jimmy Buffet at Alpine Valley is simply one of those items that is on the 'Must do before death' list. I've never before or since been to a better concert & atmosphere (& this is coming from a huge Dave Matthews Band fan... who's seen them numerous times, including several at Alpine).

I hope to make another visit to share Alpine with Jimmy, the Coral Reefers, and the Parrotheads before I get too old! http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif

I often have wondered why Buffett hasn't done his concerts at Miller Park. It would sell out and far more people could go, thus generating more revenue for him and his promoters. The parking lot would be excellent for tailgating and pre and post partying. The roof could come into play in case of bad weather. He has played at Wrigley and Fenway before, so why not Miller Park?

I dont know, but its so much fun at Alpine, People rolling down the hill drunk, there are tons of people... Buses with people on them, I think he feels Alpine would be more fun than Miller. Plus the security at Alpine leaves you alone, if the same people went to Miller, there would be tons of security.. The whole point of the Alpine concert is to have fun, and be able to move around, and party, which is harder to do when you are designated to one spot.

No offense of course... but if my two choices are Buffet and death, I'm probably leaning hard towards death.

Wow - shocking... though I guess less so, given your taste in music.

I'd describe myself as a very casual fan of Buffet... but you can't help but be in awe of what goes on when Jimmy comes to Alpine Valley. Unreal atmosphere & show.

I do love going to Alpine, I am hoping for Radiohead there this summer, and I saw Rage there last year, but Buffet just seems like something I don't want to see. It just seems like it'd be a bunch of 50 year olds drinking margaritas and trying to be 20 again. Kind of like seeing REO at the fair, or something.

When I went, there were almost as many young fans as old. Nothing like your REO example. I can't really explain exactly why it was so incredible... just one of those things you have to see to understand/believe. Best concert I've ever attended, and it's not even close - though it should be noted that what sets it apart was the atmosphere prior to the show. Best party I've been to!
