My underrated award goes to the movie Miller's Crossing. Thankfully Amazon turned me on to this movie with it's recommendations. It was five bucks and I needed to put my shipping costs over the 25$ mark for free shipping. I had never even heard of this movie before, but to quote a reviewer on Amazon "it's flawless, a jewel you can turn over and around in your hands again and again, seeing a new facet every time, each one striking and smooth and perfect."

Turns out those Coen guys know a thing or two about film-making.

Oddly enough, I had a conversation today with someone about this film - highly underrated. This and Man in the Iron Mask really made me huge fans of Gabriel Byrne... a highly underrated actor...

Byrne is proving how great he is on a nightly basis right now on "In Treatment". If he doesn't win an Emmy, I'd be shocked. That entire show is underrated.

And the award for most underrated Coen brothers film definitely goes to "Blood Simple". I think I watch that one more often than any of the others.

Looks like I have another movie to check out. Sometimes I think instant consumerism without leaving my chair is a bad idea. I just bought the movie inbetween this sentence and the last one.

You won't think it's a bad idea once you watch it. It's a classic, and that's no exaggeration.

nice call on Miller's Crossing. definitely one of my favourite gangster movies, on the level of Mean Streets and Goodfellas (check out Kurbick's The Killing). Gabriel Byrne is the coolest actor in Hollywood right now, Sterling Hayden being the coolest of all-time.

Jim Jarmusch is also an underrated director (see Dead Man, a psychadelic Western). thankfully the Coens are getting some recognition now.

I think I want to start a new thread for gangsta movies now. It's tough call on Goodfellas vs. Miller's Crossing for me.

30 Rock.

I know it won the Emmy for best comedy. But it's still getting low ratings. I couldn't have saw more than 3 episodes last year. Figured it was pretty good but not worth watching every week like The Office. Started watching it this season and I love it. Closest thing to Arrested Development IMO. Definitely heavily influenced by it. Baldwin kills it on this show. And Cerie might be the hottest chick of all-time.

I think it has taken over best comedy currently on the air from The Office (which I'm starting to think peaked with the Season 2 finale, Casino Night). If you have Netflix you can watch Season 1 on your computer. Definitely worth your time.

I would agree that it is underrated and Baldwin is amazing on the show. But to say that it is better then The Office and that Office peaked in season 2, I totally disagree.
