Eric Gagne will save 40 games this year

as brewers fans we have been spoiled recently with great closers.....Cordero was lights out, Turnbow used to be lights out, Kolb was excellent also

I agree with FTJ. Even taking out the game when Gagné pitched for a 4th day in a row, he has looked like he is going to give up baserunners. I thought I remembered Kolb giving up hits and BB alot.

I thought Gagne looked good again last night. Walked Gonzo, but should have had him on a stike three and then got three outs.

I'm genuinely curious --

 

How do those who have dismissed the notion of Gagne's 'struggles' being mostly related to bad luck respond when he pitches a filthy inning like tonight?

 

Does he forget how to pitch sometimes, and magically remember on other nights? Or is there legitimately something else at play? I can't think of more than one or two appearances by Eric this season in which he hasn't looked as good, or nearly as good as, tonight.

Gagne was nasty tonight. Gave up a hit, but it was a broken bat blooper that fell. Struck out the side. Hopefully this is the start of a long string of saves.
